Handbook

We will update this section of our website with Handbook changes made during the year.

Effective Monday, November 3, 2025,

Any student who misses more than three (3) consecutive school days for medical reasons will be required to provide a doctor’s note upon returning to school. This documentation helps ensure that students have the necessary time and care to recover fully while allowing us to maintain a safe and healthy school environment for all.

Effective Monday, December 8, 2025:

WINTER CLOTHING & APPROPRIATE STUDENT DRESS FOR OUTSIDE RECESS DURING WINTER MONTHS

Winter clothing may be worn outside only. Winter clothing (including hoodies and sweatshirts) should be left in the lockers or hung in hallways to minimize clutter. If boots are worn, shoes should be available to change into while in the building. During the winter months (mainly November through March) temperatures often drop below freezing. Depending on the aspects of each day (wind, sun, cloud cover, humidity, etc.) the ‘real feel’ temperature can be colder. Utah schools have temperature guidelines generally keeping students inside when the wind chill (real feel) temperature drops to 20 degrees Fahrenheit or below. In an effort to have our UBCA students participate in outdoor recess as often as the weather permits, all students need to be dressed appropriately for the cold weather. This means winter coats, heavy sweatshirts, long pants, hats, scarfs, gloves, snow boots and snow gear as appropriate. Students will not be permitted to participate in outdoor recess if they do not have the proper winter clothing. Decisions regarding student participation in outdoor recess is at the discretion of the school administration. Student health and safety are critical to our decision making.
